This album, the only solo effort Jimmy Page out out to date, is a relatively unknown gem outside of true Zeppelin fans as though it is evident that the production is less polished and indeed ‘demo’ like than desired that kind of held it back commercially, the 9 tracks included here are outstanding as basically 1/3 of the album are energetic instrumentals with the remainder a combination of harder blues/rock nuggets with John Miles nailing it in the handling of the vocals on those primarily along with slower blues/rock tracks with Chris Farlowe successfully taking them on primarily. Jason Bonham on the kit and Felix Krish on bass meshes superbly in assisting Jimmy who as usual is on top of his game and crushes it.

This is the first time I’ve listened to this album, starting with Emerald Eyes. So glad it caught my attention. I’m always looking for more Jimmy Page songs to listen to as I’m a huge fan since I discovered Led Zeppelin in 1969 with Whole Lotta Love. Thank you so much for posting this! ❤️

I was one of the promoters on that tour in 1988 and it was an unmitigated disaster. The LP while interesting did not sell more than 500,000 units and the Geffen label support was non existent.
90% of the concerts played lost serious money.

The main reason being is that Robert Plant had the #1 LP in the US and was literally blocking Jimmy’s concert dates (I know for a fact he did in Cleveland we lost 35,000). Furthermore, Robert sung the hit on the LP “The Only One” and was not on the tour neither was Farlowe or Krish.

The late Steve Weiss and Brian Goode not only mismanaged that tour but decimated the Coverdale Page tour in 1993 as well.they waited one year to tour on a number on LP and they cancelled the tour because of micro advance sales in each market.
