“Joan Crawford” is the controversial track on the album as it unabashedly tries to cash in on the “Mommie Dearest” phenomena of the day”

Well, maybe… except that while Fire of Unknown Origin was released in June, 1981, Mommie Dearest didn’t make it to theaters until the 25th of September, that same year.

So if they were trying to cash in, it was on the book… which seems a far lesser crime. “Unabashedly” may be a tad harsh a judgment.
